AIM/GOAL
To Empower older adults to live with purpose, independence & dignity by:
- Providing social, health and nutritional supports
- Promoting volunteer opportunities
PROJECT
Senior Citizen Services of (??????) Is intended to be a non-profit organization that provides a wide range of programs and services that enable senior adults to live independently with dignity.
One major segment of this program is to establish the “Congregate Meal Program” which will provide delicious, nutritious hot meals to the homes of seniors Who are unable to provide this service on their own, throughout the year.
Also, opportunities for active volunteer involvement in community service will be afforded through this program. Our aim is to recruit volunteers to donate a number of hours of service annually to the community.
Listed below are the programs and services that address the nutritional, physical, health, informational / educational, and social needs of the seniors facing aging and isolation. The goal is to empower seniors to age “Gracefully“.
PROGRAMS
Congregate Meal Program
Hot delicious meals served daily to those in need of such.
Senior Citizen Centers
The socializing at the various Senior Citizen Centers.
Youth, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program
Getting Volunteers of all ages (15 and older) involved in community service
Matter of Balance Program
Establishing a fall-prevention program that instructs older adults on avoiding falls, maintaining balance and staying healthy
Healthy Lifestyles
Assisting/Transportation to Doctors, Labs and Hospital. Information with reference to diabetes self-management program that helps older adults to improve health through personal planning and choices
Texercise
Establishing a based physical fitness and wellness program
Neighbor Helping Neighbor
Help socially isolated seniors 60 and older. Volunteers and professionals are involved in providing a variety of services:
transportation, minor home repairs, shopping assistance, building wheelchair/Walker ramps, safety equipment, yard maintenance, household chores, visits by phone and in person, information and referral, and meals.
